Burt Lake,
located in Cheboygan County is the second of the four lakes on the Inland Water
Route. Burt Lake has 17,120 acres of surface area with
a maximum depth of 73 feet. Burt Lake is probably best known for it’s year
round fishing and the Sturgeon that are caught in the winter months.
Other fish that you will catch in large numbers are Walleye, Smallmouth and
Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch and an assortment of pan fish.
There are four public accesses on Burt Lake. I the south east corner of Burt
Lake you will find Burt Lake State Park. This is a state owned and operated
park.
